Purpose: Perform installation, maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant, processing equipment and tools in good operating condition from an electrical and mechanical standpoint.
Essential Job Duties:
- Ensures operation of machinery and all electrical equipment.
- Maintains, troubleshoot, install, test and repair all processing equipment electrically and mechanically.
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, panels, motors, receptacles, circuit breakers, conduits, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Complete and document all PM checklists.
- Inspect electrical enclosure of equipment following safety procedures. Ensure panels are clean, organized and free of moisture.
- Communicate location with the maintenance manager daily.
- Maintains continuity between maintenance by documenting and/or communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Assist in maintaining equipment parts and supply inventory; reporting used items to inventory specialist for reorder.
- Meticulously inspect all areas of work. Remove all tools, parts, clean, etc.
- All other duties appointed by management.
Qualifications: - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices (including but not limited to a Digital Volt Meter (DVM)).
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Able to work around moving machinery comfortably and safely.
- Working in a farm environment with various conditions.
- Does not own or maintain routine contact with swine, birds or cattle.
Physical Demands: - Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Capable of working weekends and maintaining a flexible schedule. This includes regularly scheduled shifts. Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays when needed. (Being on Call)
- Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 25 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
