Gain Hands-On Experience in Residential Nursing

We are seeking a Nursing Intern to support our Residential Nursing team serving youth in mental and behavioral health stabilization programs.

In this role, you will gain hands-on clinical experience in a residential treatment setting—working alongside nurses, clinicians, and a multidisciplinary team. You’ll learn how to support medication management, assist with health assessments, and contribute to a safe, structured environment for youth with complex needs.

This internship is ideal for students pursuing a career in nursing with an interest in pediatric or behavioral health settings.


Schedule & Compensation

  • 12–18 hours per week (flexible based on academic schedule)

  • Paid internship: $14.00/hour

What You’ll Learn & Do

With guidance from the Nursing team, you will:

  • Observe and assist with medication management processes
  • Support health-related documentation, including assessments and observations
  • Assist with triage of minor injuries under supervision
  • Administer medications, including injections and vaccines, as permitted and supervised
  • Learn and apply standing medical orders and clinical protocols
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team environment supporting youth care
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model® (safety, emotional intelligence, open communication, and social learning)
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in alignment with healthcare standards

Background & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Nursing program
  • Strong interest in working with adolescents with mental health needs
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical clinical practice
  • Ability to maintain consistent, reliable attendance and adhere to scheduled hours
