The Assistant Program Director is responsible for overseeing all programs under their direction. In collaboration with the Program Director and Home Supervisors, they will provide leadership in ongoing development of programs and to participate at the administrative level in policy-making, planning and decision making for the agency as a whole. The APD is to provide leadership to the Home Supervisors and direct care employees, supports the Program Director and serves as a secondary liaison with ORR.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative oversight of the Home Supervisors in their supervision of direct care staff; this includes treatment programs, advocacy and support of family treatment, client right issues, support services, milieu support of and compliance with treatment, contract requirements, etc.
- Provide oversight at team leadership meetings and work with the Home Supervisors in overseeing daily routines, program implementation, and establishing a therapeutic milieu.
- Provide a global agency view to a team by being a channel between the agency’s administration and program staff through awareness and communication of agency planning, policies, and procedures.
- Provide financial oversight to the program by monitoring hour banks, Residential leader group budget planning, supervisor expense line items, and other program expenses. Assess and advocate for the program needs in these areas.
- Complete staff evaluations on a timely basis; use staff discipline procedures as necessary, consulting with Human Resources as appropriate.
- Assist and support all staff within their department in the effective carrying out of their roles and responsibilities.
- Meet regularly with other Associate Directors and other administrative personnel to maintain good communication among the various departments.
- Participate in agency budgeting, planning and policy development.
- Chair Residential Supervisors meeting, Shift Supervisors meeting and overnight meetings in conjunction with the partner Program Manager
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to identify high risk areas in residential.
- Consult with Human Resources on matters related to employee relations. (I.E. Hiring, performance, etc.)
- Attend Residential Leaders meeting.
- Engage in coaching and professional development activity with each Home Supervisor.
- Regular participation in supervision meetings for the sharing of ideas, feedback and department planning.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of the program(s) license.
- Provide leadership and direction to all Program management to ensure Best Practices in all areas.
- Ensure that all programs are following Agency policy and procedures, including any governmental contract or State Licensing/Child Protective Services requirements. Contact proper Agencies and complete Corrective Action Plans as required.
- Responsible for tracking and monitoring utilization and outcome data, including quarterly reporting for the all agency report card
- Responsible for timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee’s roles and functions.
- Provide on call Administration weekend coverage in rotation of Administrators
- Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. The employee must maintain a consistent work schedule and be available during the assigned hours to perform the duties of this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science – or – a high school diploma with 5 years’ progressive employment with a social services or childcare agency or organization
- Two years of direct Supervisory oversight of a Residential treatment program highly preferred.
- Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose and objectives of the agency.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday- Friday, variable hours, weekend on-call
