Promotes and maintains health by providing psychiatric medical services collaborating with a participating psychiatrist/physician.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts an initial evaluation and ongoing medication monitoring.
- Documents patient care services in the electronic medical record system.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections as directed by psychiatrist.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Fill out paperwork for insurance purposes.
- Is a part of service development
- Documents distribution of medication samples given to patients.
- Work cooperatively with the Community Services team to assure that services are being delivered with excellence.
- Respect others and understand their needs and feelings, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
- Responsible for timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee’s roles and functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Health Promotion and Maintenance, Thoroughness, Clinical Skills, Communication Skills, Medical Teamwork, Physiological Knowledge, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Administering Medication, Pain Management, Self-Development.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certified through ANCC as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan License as a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse that is in good standing.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan DEA License that is in good standing.
- Enters a collaborative agreement with Wedgwood identified physician(s).
- Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goals, purposes, and objectives of the agency.
