JOB GOAL: Performs work involving the installation, maintenance repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment as well as painting and/or cleaning projects, as needed. Serves as a member of the facilities team in completing projects according to instruction and established procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Buildings/Construction:
- Repair/rebuild broken furniture.
- Repair/rebuild damaged door jams, staircases, or other wood items within the agency.
- Assist with new construction, i.e. fences, buildings, etc.
- Make and install shelving units, bulletin boards, and other assigned projects.
- Repair or replace roofing materials as needed.
- Replace window panes, and/or hardware as needed.
- Plumbing repairs.
- Electrical repairs.
- Tile work and flooring repair.
- Finish work including drywall and painting.
- Troubleshoot heating and cooling issues.
- Installation of new doors and lock systems.
- Preventative maintenance.
- Maintain tools, supplies and other equipment in a neat, clean, orderly manner.
- Report needs for additional supplies, equipment, etc. with adequate notice to assure that they are available when needed.
- Maintain required work records and completes other written reports.
- Assist with moving office and home furniture as needed and to provide repairs as requested by staff.
- Assist with cleanup of areas that may become damaged by residents, and as needed, make temporary repairs to the damaged area.
- Perform other maintenance projects as required and assigned by the Facilities Foreman or Manager of Facilities.
- Complete painting and/or cleaning projects that may become necessary outside of the agency’s contracted services of this nature (i.e. primarily touch-up painting, unexpected carpet spot spot cleaning, etc.).
- Manage stairs to basements and second floors of resident buildings.
- Share on-call availability for evening, night or weekend hours for emergency situations, where delaying service may cause greater damage, safety, security or other increased problems.
- Grounds work including snow removal and salting.
- Appliance repair and rebuild.
- Small automotive repairs.
- Keeping the facilities shop clean and organized.
- Home Inspections as needed.
- Event set up (tables and chairs).
- Drive agency vehicles including pulling/backing up a trailer as needed.
- Responsible for timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee’s roles and functions.
- Regular participation in supervision meetings and team meetings for the sharing of ideas, feedback and department planning.
- Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. The employee must maintain a consistent work schedule and be available during the assigned hours to perform the duties of this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or trade school equivalency in education.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Prior experience in maintenance works, leading to evidence of acquired skills in one of the maintenance areas listed above.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
- Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services, and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday- Friday, with emergency on-call hours nights and weekends, 40 hours, or 20 hours variable
Starting Range: $23-26 Hourly
