The Accountant is an integral part of a dedicated and highly skilled team, responsible for providing outstanding customized service to our Clients. Maintaining a high level of Client satisfaction is critical to the success of this position. The individual in this role is responsible for performing a broad spectrum of financial activities and customer service, including accounts receivable and general ledger reconciliations, with additional responsibilities as a backup for accounts payable.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivable:
- Maintain strong communication with clients and customers to request and arrange payment.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and update customer files as needed.
- Prepare and send invoices to customers promptly and accurately.
- Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports for management review.
General Ledger Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly general ledger and account reconciliations.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and recorded.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
Accounts Payable & Expense Reimbursement:
- Support accounts payable activities during peak times or in the absence of primary staff.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
Other:
- Prioritize conflicting needs and handle matters efficiently and proactively.
- Identify and implement processes and systems to automate and increase efficiencies.
- Work on special projects individually and as part of a team.
- Effectively collaborate and communicate with others; demonstrate a desire to be part of a team.
- Exercise sound judgment and an appropriate sense of urgency.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in any major required; accounting or finance coursework preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field such as accounting, finance, tax, or customer service.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Great Plains preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with efficiency; strong attention to detail.
- Proven track record of providing outstanding customer service with a professional, tactful demeanor.
- Must maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics, and integrity in all operations.
