Position Purpose:

Responsible for processing and maintaining regulated billing documentation in compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Ensures timely and accurate receipt, review, and processing of required documentation to support month-end billing deadlines. Collaborate with management to track outstanding documentation, resolve billing issues, and improve billing accuracy. Serves as the primary liaison between physician offices and the agency to ensure timely completion and compliance of physician orders and supporting documentation.


What you will do:

  • Enter and maintain accurate client account and billing information in company systems while following home health care regulations.
  • Review and process billing documentation to ensure claims are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and prepare documentation for issue resolution.
  • Generate billing records and reports to support timely and accurate billing.
  • Monitor billing, audit, and verification reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work with intake, clinical, and billing teams to improve processes and ensure billing accuracy.
  • Provide billing and accounts receivable updates to management and assist with training new staff.
  • Resolve billing and data entry issues by collaborating with managers and clinical staff.
  • Coordinate billing-related paperwork between branch offices and centralized billing departments.
  • Participate in billing meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
  • Maintain knowledge of billing procedures, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Perform duties independently, accurately, and within required deadlines.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and excellent customer service.
  • Track and follow up on physician orders and required documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare, send, and monitor physician orders and other required paperwork.
  • Serve as the primary contact between physician offices and the agency regarding documentation and billing requirements.
  • Travel to physician offices and referral sources as needed to obtain required documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required. College business courses or associate degree is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical billing office setting strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business office functions, supported by strong analytical and organizational abilities and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy, effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Requires exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to work. Candidates must be quick learners with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, capable of taking initiative and adapting to changing priorities.
