Description:

Position Purpose:

Maintains, installs, and repairs electrical equipment, and provides for the reliable and safe operation of the hospital electrical distribution system and emergency power generators.

Hours: Full time, variable shifts, 40 hour per pay period

Shift: Day Shift

What You’ll Do

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and low-voltage systems

  • Review blueprints and ensure work meets design and safety standards
  • Manage permits, inspections, and documentation for projects and repairs
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair generators, transfer switches, and distribution systems
  • Diagnose issues using electrical, mechanical, and related systems knowledge
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality work
  • Track work orders and maintenance activities accurately
  • Order parts and maintain inventory as needed
  • Support a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to process improvements

Minimum qualifications:

  • Michigan Master Electrician License (required)

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s preferred)

  • 3+ years of electrician experience in a healthcare setting

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, emergency power, and codes

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics

  • Skilled with tools, testing equipment, and documentation
