Position Summary:

The Lead CT Technologist is a key member of the Medical Imaging Leadership Team, partnering with clinical and operational leaders to advance patient care, employee engagement, and department performance. This role serves as the technical supervisor for the modality and is responsible for assisting the Department Manager in assuring compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards, State and Federal regulations, as well as American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) requirements.

The Lead CT Technologist supports the Radiology Manager in ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing workflows, managing staffing needs, and maintaining equipment and supply readiness. This role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient diagnostic imaging services.

In addition to leadership duties, the Lead CT Technologist performs a wide range of CT procedures, producing high-quality diagnostic images and collaborating closely with radiologists and care teams to support accurate and timely diagnoses.

What you will do:

Leadership & Operations

  • Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for CT services.
  • Support the Radiology Manager in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission, state, federal, and ARRT standards.
  • Contribute to departmental goals related to quality, patient experience, operational efficiency, and financial stewardship.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, workflow coordination, and daily operational oversight.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative team culture focused on accountability and service excellence.

Clinical & Patient Care

  • Perform CT procedures following established protocols and safety standards.
  • Ensure production of high-quality diagnostic images to support clinical decision-making.
  • Assess, monitor, and support patients through imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients on exam preparation, procedures, and expectations to enhance understanding and comfort.
  • Assist radiologists with interventional or invasive procedures as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Service & Efficiency

  • Prioritize workflow to minimize patient wait times and maximize throughput.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Support cross-team collaboration and assist other staff when appropriate to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform clerical and support functions related to CT services.

What you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine program
  • ARRT registry (or eligible within 1 year of hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • CPR certification within 3 months of hire
  • Must maintain active credentials and continuing education per certifying body requirements
  • One (1) year of CT experience.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems (e.g., Meditech, Epic, Sectra)
