Description:
Performs MRI procedures as requested by referring physicians utilizing MRI equipment and associated computer accessories. Manipulates computerized patient data and records images on hardcopy film. Prepare and/or administer contrast medias as required for MRI procedures. Direct patient care is rendered while performing procedures. Assess patient condition and initiate life support measures while rendering patient care if necessary.
Schedule | Hours:
- Part-time, 24 hours
- Nights, 6:00 pm-6:30 am with currently every 4th weekend.
- Rotating Holiday coverage to be scheduled in accordance with CBA.

MRI Technologist Position Summary:
The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures, including preparing and administering contrast media. This position provides direct patient care, monitors patient condition, and initiates life support measures when necessary during procedures.
What the MRI Technologist will do:
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and provide instructions during MRI scans.
- Teach staff protocols and administer contrast media using aseptic techniques.
- Position patients on the MRI table and label films with correct exam data.
- Record, process, and maintain computerized images and patient logs.
- Select scanning protocols, set exposure, and adjust for optimal results.
- Perform equipment calibration, checks, and minor repairs; maintain records.
- Maintain inventory and request service for equipment repairs.
- Assist in developing MRI operational policies and procedures.
What the MRI Technologist will need:
- Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology or accredited program
- ARRT, NMTCB, or equivalent certification
- Preferred: At least 2 years prior employment in MRI or equivalent imaging related field
