Description:
The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safe surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.
What you will need:
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Successful completion of an RNFA Program
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
- BLS Certification American Heart Association
- Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience.
- Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating
What you will do:
- Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient
- Provide hemostasis under surgeon supervision, including clamping, coagulating, and ligating vessels
- Performs wound closures as directed, including suturing drains, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin
- Handles tissue as directed by a surgeon.
- Applies surgical dressing, application of casts, splints, or immobilizing devices
- Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, and instruments).
- Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion, when appropriate.
- Selects and applies appropriate wound dressing.
- Provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs to expedite the operative procedure.
