Position Purpose
The Department Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for all areas reporting throughout the department.
Positive attitude and teamwork are essential. Exceptional customer service to patients is required. The RN is accountable to practice in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code Act 368 of 1978, Article 15 (Health Occupations), part 172 (Nursing) and NOCHS Professional Nursing Practice Handbook.
Status available: Full-time
Shift: Day Shift - Monday - Friday
Required Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure /Certification
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current PALS certification
Current TNCC certification
Experience
Must have 4 years of progressive Emergency Department experience.
Five years of progressive supervisory/management experience preferred.
Ability to successfully complete the general orientation and knowledge of all modalities within the Emergency Department
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language sufficiently to communicate accurate and tactful explanations to people who may be under some stress and to maintain all necessary record keeping.

Actively supports, promotes, and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision, and Values of NOCHS via the goals and objectives of the Emergency Department as played out in the clinical setting.
Provides excellent customer service to external customers.
Actively promotes customer service throughout NOCHS by practicing team building and “interdepartnership”.
Meets all competency requirements annually per department standards.
Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development of self and staff.
