Position Summary:
The Retail Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating retail pricing strategies for our corporate retail stores and the suggested retail price zones for our independent retail customers. This includes all aspects of strategy development, execution, pricing architecture, standards, and guidelines. An essential part of this role is maintaining business partnerships with Category Managers and Business Planners to ensure pricing strategies help deliver business objectives.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Work cross functionally with the Pricing leaders and the Merchandising team to lead the development of pricing strategies for assigned categories.
Conduct scheduled pricing reviews to maintain competitive price position and drive performance; breadth and depth of reviews will vary based on item and category role and performance analytics.
Build analytic models to identify opportunities to improve performance of assigned categories, create and model scenarios, develop and implement in-market tests, assess results, gain alignment for strategy changes, and reconfigure tools to support agreed-upon changes.
Monitor changes in consumer behavior, performance of assigned categories and total store, and competitive trends to adapt price strategies.
Develop and maintain price architecture for assigned categories.
Engage with Independent Retail customers to provide analysis and advice on pricing best practices.
Identify and implement process efficiencies
Support pricing initiatives that span across various functions. Lead and identify pricing initiatives within the team.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Bachelor's Degree (Required) in Business Administration, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Retail industry and/or supermarket experience preferred
Efficient with excel and other Microsoft office applications
Strong technical and analytical skills
Innovative and self-motivated
Ability to work independently on routine tasks and participate in special projects and initiatives
Understanding of retail pricing strategies and principles
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to collect data, analyze trends (and make decisions)
