This position will support the Manager New Stores, Remodels & Floor Care from a Retail Operations perspective focusing on Retail and customer facing items such as; results in the field, vendor performance, adjusting store processes, dictate future decisions regarding robotics etc. to ensure brand standards are met at the least possible cost.
What You'll be Doing:
- Works in collaboration with Store Directors, Market Directors, and Regional Vice Presidents to coach the Meijer Team and floor care provider to properly execute the floor care scope of work.
- Provides education and conflict resolution between the Meijer Team and floor care provider.
- Develops and executes a grading system and scorecard to evaluate vendor performance and compliance.
- Develops floor care related training materials and job guides as needed.
- Manages floor care survey results submitted by stores and responds to all feedback in a timely manner. Communicates survey results to the floor care provider.
- Assists with the implementation of new program initiatives (scopes of work, surveys, training materials, etc.).
- Researches developments in the floor care industry to ensure that Meijer is aware of any new industry best practices and technologies.
- Extensive travel is required to observe floor care conditions, conduct performance audits, and educate/coach the Meijer Team.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, construction or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of Floor care experience in retail preferred.
- Knowledge of Floor care processes and how it impacts Operations.
- Knowledge of Foods, Hardlines and Softline’s Merchandising and Operations.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office including; MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences from Senior Leadership to Team Members. Can get messages across that have the desired effect.
- Demonstrated ability to listen attentively and actively.
- Demonstrated ability to provide information people need to know; provides accurate and timely information cross functionally and to third party vendors.
- Demonstrated skill to pursue everything with energy, drive and a need to finish; seldom gives up especially in the face of setbacks; works with a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated skill to pick up on technical issues quickly; can learn new skills and knowledge; is good at learning new retail industry subjects, product knowledge and technical knowledge; does well with technology.
