Responsible for leading and overseeing all corporate life cycle pricing strategies, price management systems, rules, standards, and guidelines. An integral part of this role is to establish a business partnership with all Merchandising GVPs/VPs, DMMs and Buyers to develop and refine pricing strategies that support individual category strategies. Responsible for ensuring that pricing strategies are executed consistently and in alignment with product and promotional strategies. As a result strong influencing skills are important to ensure strategies and guardrails maintained. Responsibility of leading and mentoring a team of Pricing Analysts, providing stretch goals to aid in the team’s growth & development, and ensuring accountability.

What You'll be Doing:
Building relationships with other Business Units to achieve financial goals:
- Foster a partnership with Merchandising stakeholders to support the development of key pricing strategies and tactics that deliver financial objectives and ROI.
- Strongly influence business decisions based on analyses gleaned from available pricing & research tools (e.g. Nielsen, Consumer Insights, Competitive Pricing Data, etc.) as well as on Meijer pricing and promotion guardrails.
- Provide solutions to support Merchandising and Pricing initiatives with an eye on protecting and/or improving customer price perception, growing market share, and attaining financial goals.
Strategy & Analysis:
- Develop pricing strategies for both national brand and own brand programs to deliver optimum sales growth and profit while ensuring they align with overall Meijer branding and pricing strategies.
- Model the impact of proposed price strategies in terms of sales, margin, and share.
- Assess new and existing markets to identify areas of opportunities and develop recommendations.
- Collaborate with other Pricing Managers to establish a competitive price check schedule.
- Ensure that Meijer lifecycle pricing strategies are implemented and maintained.
- Develop guardrails that will ensure legal compliance both in-store & backstage.
- Define data, reporting and system enhancements that will govern lifecycle pricing recommendations and price management system related projects.
Communication:
- Ensure timely & actionable scorecards/ad hoc reports are published to all relevant internal partners.
- Develop & present pricing strategy information to Senior Leadership.
- Communicate pricing trends and insights to business partners, articulate impacts to Meijer’s current strategy and recommend solutions.
Leadership:
- Mentor and provide direction to direct reports.
- Drive accountability within the team to seek out strategic opportunities to maximize sales, market share and margin.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent experience required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of pricing or analytical experience in retail.
- Proficient in a wide range of analytical, quantitative, and statistical techniques and tools to derive insights from large, complex data environments.
- Experience with statistical analysis software packages (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Stata).
- Experience with insights, research and reporting tools (e.g. Nielsen, Microstrategy, SQL).
- Experience with price management tools (e.g. Revionics, DemandTec).
- Excellent communication skills: listening, verbal and written.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong work ethic complemented with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Prior leadership/management experience preferred.
- Ability to mentor and lead a team of analysts.
- Office computer skills required; preference for Microsoft application experience.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Ability to learn company systems and tools.
