Reports to: Finance Director
Job Summary: This position is responsible for compiling, analyzing and presenting complex financial information.
Work Location: Holland, Michigan. This is an office-first position with the potential for up to 40% remote work per week following successful job orientation (which typically requires three to six months).
Essential Duties
- Develop financial projections, budget-to-actual analysis, reports, graphical representations, and presentations.
- Create and analyze various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including dashboards and financial performance monitoring, and ensure financial information is recorded accurately.
- Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry or economic conditions.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze cost analyses and cost-of-service studies for utility products and services, including projecting expenses, revenues, capital expenditures, and budget assumptions to support annual and long-range financial planning.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement rate and fee structures consistent with each utility’s financial position, budgetary requirements, revenue targets, and long-term goals, including preparation and maintenance of rate and fee schedules.
- Develop forecasts for future rate changes and evaluate incentive rate structures as part of the annual budget, rate-setting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Analyze wholesale contracts, including monitoring economic and operational impacts and reconciling billings to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance.
- Provide general analysis and accounting support to the Finance Department, including audit support and preparation of financial schedules as needed.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- At least four years’ experience in financial analysis and cost analysis, or utility rate development.
- Computer skills to effectively utilize accounting software systems and the ability to present data in graphical formats.
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of the accounting profession.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms.

- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to express ideas when presenting possible solutions to complex problems.

- Mental ability to frequently handle pressures related to working on multiple projects requiring attention to detail.
