Salary
$40,000, commensurate with experience.

Primary Duties
Assist with development and preparation of offensive practice and game plans.
Provide instruction to players.
Coach players individually and in groups, monitor academic progress, and ensure athletes meet conduct and culture standards.
Identify, evaluate, and recruit talented student-athletes who meet the university's academic and athletic requirements.
Assist with academic support, monitoring study table, mentoring cohort, and serve as liaison to the Laker Academic Success Center.
Assist with camp coordination and other program fundraising needs.
Ensure the program adheres to all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
Serve as a GVSU ambassador, engage with media, and participate in fundraising and community events.
Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience recruiting and coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level.
A thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA rules and regulations.
Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athletes and NCAA compliance with the highest ethical standards.
Driving a company/university vehicle may be required. A valid driver’s license is a requirement and an MVR needs to be conducted upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred
Experience coaching basketball players at the collegiate or commensurate level.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Nights, weekends, and travel are required.
