1. Provide hands-on desktop and AV support across university facilities, including operational support in classrooms, labs, conference rooms, and event spaces.
2. Supervise student employees: hire, manage schedules, provide mentorship, and coach in various technical activities.
3. Develop and conduct user training sessions, create instructional materials, and onboard faculty for new equipment and technologies.
4. Collaborate with internal IT teams and third parties to resolve technical issues; participate in Simulation Center's monthly team meetings.
5. Maintain accurate inventory of software, hardware settings, and configuration logs for AV and simulation equipment across campuses.
6. Support various learning modalities (in-person, remote, hybrid, distance), ensuring optimal educational environments and testing operational capacity of IT and simulation equipment.
7. In collaboration with the Project management Office (PMO), manage IT and AV projects, focusing on design and installation for Health Campus facilities; prepare and update project documentation, specifications,
technical diagrams, and layouts.
8. Create instruction manuals for new simulation equipment, document improvements and sustainability needs, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
9. Support emerging technology development by collaborating with faculty and facilitating the effective use of technology resources within the Creative Innovation Lab.
10. Perform other duties as required or assigned by the manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years of equivalent training or experience.
Minimum 2 years of related experience in IT support, focusing on AV equipment and peripheral repairs, installation, and troubleshooting within a business, events, or education setting. Experience with PC and Mac operating systems, hardware, software, and computer peripherals. Strong oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of electronics and professional electronic testing equipment. Proficiency in AV systems and a good understanding of TCP/IP concepts. Experience in developing systems or signal flow diagrams. Experience working with contractors and vendors to implement projects. Ability to commute between campuses to troubleshoot, configure, repair, or move equipment and systems. Ability to position oneself on ladders and floors, inspect delicate connections, and maintain a stationary sitting or standing position. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
