 We are seeking multiple Part-Time Adult Educators who enjoy engaging adult learners and facilitating experiences that spark curiosity, connection, and discovery.

 What You’ll Do
 Facilitate Adult Learning Experiences 
Lead engaging programs for adult audiences using established content
Present information clearly and connect guests to exhibitions and themes
Adapt facilitation style to meet diverse learning needs and group dynamics
Support Guest Experience & Engagement
Welcome, orient, and assist guests in a professional, guest-centered manner
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and curiosity-driven environment
Support tours, drop-in programs, and seasonal learning experiences
Maintain Program Readiness
Prepare and maintain materials, supplies, and learning spaces
Ensure program areas are clean, organized, and ready for use
Utilize educational tools and technology to support delivery
Collaborate & Contribute to Programs
Partner with staff and volunteers to support program delivery
Assist with cultural events, tours, and special programming
Provide feedback to support continuous improvement
Support Safety & Operations
Monitor group behavior and maintain a safe learning environment
Follow safety protocols and support incident response as needed
Collect attendance and feedback data as assigned
 
 What You Bring 
Experience facilitating programs, teaching, or leading group experiences
Strong communication and public speaking skills
Ability to engage adult learners in a meaningful and accessible way
Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments
Ability to adapt to changing schedules, formats, and audience needs
 Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Museum Education, Public History, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
 Preferred Experience working with adult audiences in educational or cultural settings. Teaching certification. First Aid/CPR certification. Bilingual Spanish/English skills
 
Schedule & Availability Expectations
Part-time role (less than 25 hours per week)
Availability required between May 2 and November 1 
Typically 1-3 days per week, based on program needs
 2-3 shifts per week, each lasting approximately 4-6 hours per shift 
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, and evenings 
Must be available to work when Meijer Gardens is open to the public (7 days/week)

 Working Conditions: This role operates across indoor and outdoor learning environments, including galleries, classrooms, gardens, and public program space. Work may take place in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and light precipitation. The position requires frequent movement throughout the grounds and interaction with guests, staff, and volunteers in both structured and drop-in settings. Work environments may range from quiet program facilitation to active, high-traffic public spaces. 
 
 Physical Requirements: This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods while facilitating programs. The position involves occasional lifting or carrying of materials (typically up to 10-25 pounds), as well as bending, reaching, and kneeling during hands-on activities. The ability to navigate indoor and outdoor spaces, including uneven terrain and stairs, is required. Clear communication and the ability to observe and respond to guest needs in dynamic environments are essentail.
