Supervisor: Executive Sous Chef
Pay Type: Part-time, Hourly, Variable
Compensation: This position offers an hourly wage of $18.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Position Summary: The Catering Prep Cook provides support through food production and distribution of products and services primarily for on-premises catering operation. Maintain food sanitation, quality standards and effective communication. Reflect the established standards for quality, productivity, professionalism, and customer service. Work independently as well as with effective direction and support for other staff members, volunteers, and vendors. This role is on a variable part-time basis. Scheduling subject to catering volume and availability.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain recipe integrity while preparing food.
  • Monitor freshness of products and ensure quality standards for food production, distribution and presentation.
  • Assist with maintaining an organized inventory in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain portion controls, stock rotation and an organized inventory.
  • Document all waste.
  • Assist with proper storage and upkeep of equipment and small wares.
  • Maintain daily set-up, clean-up and sanitation of food service areas according to established procedures.
  • Assist with production of concessions food for summer concerts.
  • Maintain quality communications and organizational skills; meet deadlines.
  • Work efficiently and safely through tasks to achieve necessary outcomes.
  • Work well without supervision and be punctual and reliable.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Education and / or Qualifications preferred:
  • Education: Minimum of 1 year, back of house, high volume work experience, preferably in a catering culinary setting.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Licenses:
    • Strong focus on time management, sense of urgency, quality standards and customer service.
    • Must be willing to work a mixed schedule including days, nights, weekends and occasional holidays.

Working Conditions: Basic mobility is expected in offices, grounds, and exhibition areas. Ability to observe details at close range and communicate information accurately with others. Engage in occasional object manipulation with or without assistance and efficiently navigate the workspace to access essential resources. Ability to regularly move up to 20 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, (i.e., load, unload, and move supplies, medium to heavy weight tools, and equipment). Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. This job operates in a professional indoor kitchen environment, across grounds, and exhibition areas. Occasionally, may be required to work outdoors under inclement weather conditions.
