Note: This role requires 100% on-site work in our office in Kentwood, MI.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Security Operations: Manage vulnerability scanning, patch management, endpoint detection (EDR/MDR), and incident response to secure company data.
- System Administration: Own the configuration and management of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Office 365, Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and Group Policy.
- Escalation & Support: Serve as the final escalation point for complex technical issues while actively assisting with daily helpdesk tickets (hardware, printers, user access) to keep the queue moving.
- Network Management: Maintain and monitor network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Lifecycle Management: Handle secure user onboarding and offboarding, including badging, account creation, and hardware provisioning.
- Project Execution: Lead technical projects—such as server migrations, MFA rollouts, or software upgrades—from planning to implementation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT Systems Administration, Network Engineering, or a similar hybrid role.
- Security Expertise: Proven track record of implementing security best practices, managing firewalls, and securing sensitive data.
- Microsoft Stack Mastery: Deep technical knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and the O365 admin center.
- Generalist Mindset: Willingness to work in a "low-ego" environment where you are expected to resolve high-level architectural issues and low-level hardware fixes alike.
- Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of core networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnetting).
- Problem Solving: Ability to independently troubleshoot root causes rather than just applying quick fixes.
Hours/Work arrangement:
- Work must be completed on-site 100% of the time in our Kentwood, MI headquarters
- 7 am – 4 pm schedule, Monday-Friday
- Expectation to be on call on occasion/as-needed
