The Data Steward will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and security of data assets within the organization. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to establish and enforce data management policies, procedures, and best practices. The Data Steward will also play a key role in identifying data quality issues, implementing data governance initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in data management processes.
Duties/Responsibilities: Identifying duties and tasks that comprise about 90 to 95 percent of the work done and listing tasks in order of time consumed (or, sometimes, in order of importance).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data governance policies and standards.
- Establish data quality metrics and monitor adherence to data quality standards.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, data lineage documentation, and SOP’s
- Implement data classification and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and root causes.
- Lead efforts to remediate data quality issues and improve data accuracy and completeness.
- Provide guidance and training to end-users on data management best practices and procedures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data management principles, practices, and technologies.
- Participate in data governance committees and contribute to the development of data governance frameworks.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and governance.
- Oversee the extraction of reports and datasets from multiple sources.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, correlations, and insights relevant to business goals.
- Develop and refine data models and analytical techniques to drive high-impact decision-making.
- Provide thought leadership in data science and analytics contributing to the organization's data strategy and vision.
- Communicate complex data analyses to non-technical stakeholders enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Anticipate future analytical needs and design scalable solutions to address them.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and techniques in data analytics.
- Lead initiatives to explore new data sources and innovative approaches to problem-solving.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of data management principles, data quality concepts, and data governance frameworks.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual, with all positions & levels of the business.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ Years’ experience in data management, data governance, or related roles.
- Staffing industry, ATS or CRM Experience preferred.
- Relevant certifications in data management (e.g. Certified Data Management Professional, Certified Information Management Professional, Data Governance and Stewardship Professional) are a plus.
- Experience with data profiling tools, data modeling techniques, and metadata management tools.
- Knowledge in SQL, Microsoft Power BI, and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience with managing data quality remediation using ITSM platforms preferred but not required.
