About This Role
Artprize is looking for Production Manager to oversee the logistical and technical elements of all events during ArtPrize, including large-scale, high-profile productions. This role involves working closely with the Operations and Production team, artists, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure seamless planning and execution throughout all stages of the event. The Production Manager will play a key role in coordinating timelines, budgets, staffing, and materials, ensuring that each event runs smoothly, safely, and on schedule.
Requirements
This position pays $25/hour and is a seasonal opportunity expected to last from April 2025 through October 2025. An estimate of the time requirements are below:
- April - 20 hours per week
- May - 25 hours per week
- June - 30 hours per week
- July - 40 hours per week
- August - 40 hours per week
- September - 40 hours per week
- October - 25 hours per week
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities will include:
Planning & Coordination
- Assist in developing and managing a comprehensive production timeline from pre-ArtPrize planning through post-event breakdown.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Production to translate the artistic vision into practical execution.
- Coordinate with internal departments (marketing, exhibitions and development) and external stakeholders (artists, vendors, contractors) to align all event elements with ArtPrize's objectives.
Logistics & Operations
- Supervise the installation and de-installation of events including but not limited to stages, performances, and vendor booths during ArtPrize events.
- Procure equipment and materials, managing rentals and purchases while adhering to budget constraints.
- Source and book catering and entertainment for events, coordinating logistics on event days.
- Coordinate with on-site personnel for setup and teardown, ensuring safety and functionality.
Team Leadership
- Manage a team ensuring they are supported throughout ArtPrize.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors to resolve any issues that arise.
- Attend production meetings and check-ins to ensure deadlines and expectations are met.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including crowd management, emergency response plans, and equipment safety.
- Oversee risk management protocols and assist in obtaining the necessary permits for ArtPrize events.
Budget & Vendor Management
- Assist with managing the production budget, ensuring all costs are tracked and stay within allocated funds.
- Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to meet technical and logistical requirements.
- Manage communication between internal stakeholders and third party vendors.
Problem-Solving
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during ArtPrize, minimizing disruption to the experience.
- Address unexpected challenges related to equipment, weather, or staffing efficiently
Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in event production, preferably in arts or festival environments along with a strong understanding of event logistics, technical production, and vendor management.
