DISHER is partnering with a motorcycle manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan to fill their Engineering Testing Technician that will play a crucial role in supporting the engineering team by conducting a variety of tests on products and prototypes. This position requires a strong understanding of basic engineering principles, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise instructions and procedures.

What you'll get to do:

  • Perform various tests on products and prototypes, including but not limited to: Environmental tests (temperature, humidity, vibration), life cycle tests (durability, fatigue), performance tests (speed, accuracy, efficiency), safety tests (electrical, mechanical).
  • Prepare test setups and fixtures as required.
  • Collect and record accurate and reliable test data.
  • Analyze test results and identify any anomalies or deviations from expected performance.
  • Generate clear and concise test reports.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability, along with troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist in the procurement and installation of new testing equipment.

What will make you successful:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field (e.g., laboratory technician, quality control).
  • Strong understanding of basic engineering principles (mechanics, electronics, thermodynamics).
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, data acquisition systems).
  • Excellent data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and materials
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment that may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, or other hazards.
  • May require occasional travel to other locations.
