Machine Shop Production Supervisor – Grand Haven, MI
DISHER is collaborating with a leader in their industry, known for their high-performance advanced antenna systems, to fill the Machine Shop Production Supervisor position.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team in operating machines to perform various processing operations. Your focus will be on increasing efficiency and ensuring that finished products meet all specifications. You will manage the machine shop's activities, implement cost-saving strategies, and drive continuous improvement efforts.

What you'll get to do:
- Manage and prioritize activities in the machine shop to meet customer, plant, and management requirements
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs
- Adhere to project timelines and provide regular updates to leadership
- Monitor and improve the quality of machine shop products
- Promote teamwork and collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals
- Enforce company policies and implement cost-saving strategies
- Drive troubleshooting and problem-solving when performance targets are not achieved
- Monitor adherence to 5S and drive improvement efforts
- Schedule employee hours and shifts, conduct performance reviews, and address disputes
- Respond quickly and practically to emergencies, crises, or unexpected problems during the shift
What will make you successful:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3-7 years of supervisory experience in a machine shop preferred
- 5 years of technical experience with CNC Programming, lathes, mills, etc.
- Ability to coordinate with others to achieve desired results
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and professional skills
- Detail-oriented with strong computer skills, using various Microsoft applications
- Experience with Okuma Lathes, Mills, Nomura Swiss Lathe, and Miyano machines is a plus
