Senior Product Engineer – Zeeland, Michigan
DISHER is currently partnering with a local company seeking a creative engineer to join their team as part of their Product Engineering group. This position provides technical engineering leadership to the development of innovative new products, and/or improvement and expansion of current products.

What you will get to do:
- Develop innovative engineering and product design solutions to insure the company’s products are perceived as the best in the industry.
- Create product specifications that meet customer and marketing requirements for function, utility and reliability.
- Follow the robust design process to reduce the risk of design and product failures with the application of DFMEA, Analytical CAE tools, prototyping and design reviews. Recommend modifications and improvements to the design process where appropriate.
- Ensure products can be manufactured efficiently and effectively through the application and facilitation of DFM and DFA.
- Establish testing parameters and analyze test results to insure products meet customer, certification and code requirements. Design experiments and analyze test data to evaluate potential design solutions.
- Establish initial bills of material (BOM) to insure accurate part numbers, product data, quotes and drawing revisions.
- Participate in cross functional new product development projects and supports team members across disciplines to achieve project goals including timing, cost and product performance. Provide technical expertise to the project team.
- Stay current on industry knowledge and emerging manufacturing process innovations, new materials and other transferable technologies in order to bring creativity to the current product development process.
- May provide engineering and product design support to manufacturing engineering and process engineering, if needed.
What will make you successful:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field preferred.
- 8 or more years of hands on new product experience 5 plus years of experience with design and manufacture of injection molded products.
- Hands-on doorglass experience a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, databases and the MS Office Suite are required. Working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD and Oracle a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, including keeping appropriate people within the organization apprised of status or progress
