REPORTS TO: Head Men’s Soccer Coach

CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time

DEPT: Athletics

COMPENSATION

  • Full tuition benefits, not including fees and books, subject to financial aid guidelines.

  • $10,000 Stipend. Meal Offerings.

DUTIES: Responsible for the leadership and development of student athletes including:

Equip for Christ

  • Discipleship of men in the men’s soccer program to facilitate spiritual growth in each student athlete

  • Teaching and modeling the value of Christian competition

  • Monitoring academic performance of student athletes and working to ensure the discipleship, development, and retention of student athletes

  • Counseling team members in disciplinary, academic, or personal matters while consulting with Cornerstone administration on matters requiring resolution of problems.

Recruiting

  • Recruit and retain quality student athletes who faithfully understand and embrace Cornerstone University’s mission

  • Work in conjunction with the head coach to fill a roster with an appropriately competitive roster

  • Find student athletes that are equipped with the ability to achieve academic and athletic success

Excellence

  • Work to ensure that we are the most effective and successful athletic department in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference

  • Help prepare student athletes in the analyses of their specific sport and planning strategies accordingly

  • Handling all social media accounts for the CU men’s soccer program, regularly producing engaging content

Build Authenticity

  • Regularly serve in the department in any area needed, including spiritual development, field maintenance, home events oversight, and fundraising activities

  • Creating opportunities for student athletes to invest in the community

  • Caring and contributing for the development and growth of the athletic department, in tangible ways

Administrative Duties

  • Approaching every facet of this position with a high degree of professionalism

  • Performing other duties as requested by the head coach or Athletic Director

SCHEDULE: Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities require additional hours and flexibility, including evenings and weekends.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • An accredited bachelor’s degree is required, along with the acceptance into a CU graduate program

  • Outstanding ability to work cooperatively with other administrators, coaches, students, and faculty members

  • Strong organizational skills, to achieve administrative excellence

  • Ability to recruit in line with the mission of the athletic department

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Playing experience in a collegiate program

  • An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment.
