About the Practice

Largest Primary Care office in the medical group. This clinic covers family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatric medicine. MAs hired into this space are expected to be both clinical and clerical in their job duties. There are other allied health team members on site as well. Including pharmacy, physical therapy, behavioral health, care management, lab, and x-ray. MA schedules are built into blocks to match the provider/business need. Most schedules will include at least one early morning shift and one late night shift.

We are a large office that relies on a culture of trust and initiative. We do not micromanage, and our best fit candidates are those who can communicate needs effectively and are not afraid to ask questions in the moment. Our trust is built with each other’s willingness to help when needed, be initiative-taking to see a need and fill it. We are a teaching site and often have students from all areas of the medical field in our office. Our most successful employees encompass great skills in time management, communication, and the drive/desire to work to top of scope and provide the best patient care possible.

Hours of Work: it is a 4-5 days / week, shifts are variable during the week, each schedule will for sure have 1 early day (or more), and 1 late night till 7:00pm per week (shift can start as early as 6:30 am and end the latest at 7 pm for the late night).

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program Required
  • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days
    • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
    • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
    • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
    • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
    • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA
