Job Summary - Director, Support Services
Oversees support services, which may include Environmental and Nutrition Services (EVS/NS), patient transport and linen at multiple Corewell Health locations, including ambulatory facilities, within our service area. Key responsibilities include regulatory compliance, policy and procedure development, strategic planning, program development, capital planning, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, performance improvement and maintenance of collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. This role will frequently collaborate with other departments to ensure the success of the organization and Support Services.
Essential Functions - Director, Support Services
- Provides strategic direction and takes the lead in the development of strategic goals as well as business plans for multiple support services functions, to drive best in class operations in support of organizational strategic goals.
- Develops and manages the annual budget and capital planning for multiple Support Services teams. Reviews and monitors the financial results of the sites.
- Accountable for service and quality improvement results (Press Ganey/HCAHPS) and regulatory compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations that pertain to the operations of multiple Support Services teams
- Collaborates in the development of key success metrics. Monitors metrics and results. Ensures that organizational and client performance expectations are met.
- Participates on various hospital committees and provides a single point of contact and coordination for Support Services for all locations of oversight.
- Interviews, hires, orients, coaches and develops leaders and staff members. Assigns duties and responsibilities, evaluates performance, provides feedback and takes corrective action as needed.
- Maintains current knowledge of business operations and management techniques and models the behaviors embodied in the mission of Corewell Health.
Qualifications - Director, Support Services
- Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Healthcare Management, Business or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience Progressively responsible leadership experience in an organization of the size and complexity of Corewell Health. Required
- Experience working with unions. Preferred
