This is a full time Summer 2026 internship.

This is a Hybrid position requiring minimally Monday & Tuesday weekly in-person with the Clinical Policy Program Team.

Job Summary

Step into the world of healthcare innovation and make a meaningful impact before you even graduate. The Clinical Policy Program summer internship offers practical experience in programmatic development and harmonization of internal clinical policies, procedures, and protocols. Focused exclusively on internal processes, you will help streamline documentation, improve consistency, and support policy review and workflow projects within the care delivery enterprise. The Clinical Policy Program is a highly visible program in the organization, supporting thousands of clinical documents with exposure to leadership of all levels in all clinical disciplines.

Responsibilities include review of internal policies, analyzing procedure effectiveness, reinforcing the clinical policy program guiding principles/standards/processes, and assisting with document management and process improvements. The role is adaptable to each intern’s skills and interests, with ongoing mentorship and feedback provided. This position will report directly to the Manager of the Clinical Policy Program.

By the end of the internship, participants will have contributed to impactful projects and gained insights into how internal clinical governance and programs shape healthcare practices.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains accountability for completing support tasks as directed.
  • Maintains clear and appropriate documentation of actions taken.
  • May analyzes department processes and other Corewell Health systems encountered and makes recommendations improvements, as appropriate. Participates in quality monitoring activities/process improvement activities.
  • Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team player with others in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services.

Qualifications

Preferred

  • Currently enrolled in high school or have graduated from high school, or are enrolled in a university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the area of accountability. May also be a recent graduate from an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program.
