Job Summary

The DS Architecture program is comprised of technical and business domains at Corewell Health. Domains are a collection of applications, systems, and/or solutions that address a set of business capabilities. Domain functions are the foundation of Corewell Health's DS ecosystem with services supporting the delivery of care, healthcare coverage, corporate functions, employee experience, security, infrastructure, and information management.
Domain Architects apply their knowledge and expertise to understand and interpret business requirements with technology solutions that meet the long-term needs of the organization. As a trusted guide and specialist, they provide insight on the technical maturity of a specific domain, avert, and solve domain problems, and define appropriate use of technology to support the domains business capabilities.
Domain Architects use their creative and critical thinking skills to develop and maintain technical standards, concept models, reference architectures and identify technology patterns. They are recognized as thought leaders and sought after for their knowledge, mentorship, and guidance.
As advocates for their respective domain, they participate in the broader architecture program. They collaborate with other domain architects to ensure the DS ecosystem is well balanced, understood, prioritized, mature, efficient, and cost effective. Domain Architects seek technology innovation within business workflows and are trusted partners with senior leadership. Using their knowledge and skillset, they provide meaningful recommendations and analysis, influence decisions, and set technical direction in their domains.

Essential Functions

  • Apply specialized knowledge of a specific domain to identify business and technical opportunities, provide internal consultation, and articulate the maturity and lifecycle of applications, systems, and solutions.
  • Promote and advocate for domain objectives as an expert in the architecture program. Collaborate with other domain, system, and enterprise architects to align with business priorities and technical capabilities. Guide technology adoption for DS teams and provide insight to avert and solve domain problems.
  • Define appropriate technology and workflow for a domain portfolio. Ensure domain capabilities are aligned, cost effective, and meet long term needs of the organization.
  • Rationalize the technology roadmap, including the disposition of systems/solutions within the domain area of expertise.
  • Create and maintain architecture technology standards, reusable patterns, concept models, and reference documentation for a domain portfolio.
  • Collaborate with business and DS leadership to interpret, define, and validate business requirements.
  • Participate in risk analysis and threat mitigation activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Experience in the development of technology models, standards or patterns used to guide the domain area of expertise
  • Software, system, solution, or technology engineering experience at highest level of proficiency

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or equivalent
  • 7 years of related experience
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Experience working with SaaS native reporting & analytics tools (Epic Cogito, Workday, etc.)
  • Prior health care provider or payer experience
