Job Summary
The associate fitness center coordinator is responsible for providing wellness/fitness center members, prospective members and visitors with a warm greeting, accurate product and service information and a timely, personal response to requests and/or customer service issues. Consistently provides outstanding customer service in a variety of settings and roles including but not limited to the welcome center (check-in, cafe, pro shop), fitness floor, locker rooms and over-all facility presentation. Supports membership enrollment as appropriate.
Essential Functions
- Will provide a broad spectrum of services in a variety of settings within the fitness/wellness center. In all situations will provide and maintain the highest level of customer service through personal actions, effective decision making and continuous development. Will receive input from members and take appropriate action to ensure member satisfaction is attained, referring to alternate end user as appropriate. Promote effective retention of membership and programs (internally and externally).
- Tasks at the welcome center include but are not limited to member check-in, series sales, point of sale, locker rental and class registration.
- Tasks at the cafe include the full range of duties including but not limited to taking customer orders, point of sale, preparing specialty beverages, food prep, serving and washing dishes. Maintain a safe and clean environment that exceeds health code regulations.
- In support of the fitness team, appropriately respond to members regarding their personal exercise program within their ability and scope of responsibility, bringing matter forward to the fitness team as appropriate.
- Responsible for regular rounding through the locker room areas to ensure appropriate presentation and amenities are stocked. Completes laundering duties, folding and restocking towel supplies in all designated facility locations.
- Tours prospective members and offers membership enrollment. Ensures new member communication and takes accountability for ensuring accuracy of data for members, guest and prospects.
- Conduct regular facility rounding to ensure the facility is safe, clean and presentable. Replenish products and supplies as necessary. Appropriately observe all areas of the facility and act when and where problems arise; including but not limited to member needs, equipment monitoring/preventative maintenance/questions/issues, program or service needs, and facility presentation. Reports rounding concerns to the appropriate party.
- Accountable for following all opening and closing procedures for the facility and communication with the manager on duty. Requires additional training, competency and knowledge of facility.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of relevant experience customer service in a high volume service industry. Preferred
- Demonstrated work experience with cash handling, accounting and data entry systems. Preferred
- Prior experience and or familiarity with the fitness / wellness industry Preferred
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
