Under direction of licensed nursing staff and coordinator, provides general clerical duties, reception duties and requisition of supplies, equipment, and services from other departments. Assists in maintaining the general function of the Nursing Station.
Answers call lights and forwards requests to appropriate team members.
Answers all telephone calls within three (3) rings using appropriate scripting.
Uses physician calling preferences when contacting physicians 100% of the time.
Contacts physicians in a timely manner regarding consults per policy, according to physician’s order (stat vs. routine).
Assembles, disassembles, and maintains patient medical record per unit standard.
Collaborates with manager to order and maintain appropriate supplies and floor stock.
Demonstrates effective written and verbal inter and intra department communication, maintaining patient confidentiality.
Maintains competency in using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Demonstrates a commitment to continued self-growth and maintenance of competencies.
Demonstrates Customer Focus, SERVICE EXCELLENCE and Relationship Oriented Care (ROC) principles.
Utilizes scripting as outlines in Service Excellence standards.
Demonstrates personal behaviors in accordance with CREDO principles.
Ensures and enhances facility, safety, and regulatory outcomes including National Patient Safety Goals and compliance to Restraint/Seclusion policies and procedures.
Completes all mandatory training/education/competencies required for job classification, along with TB testing.

Required
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year of relevant experience Medical related experience such as: Doctor’s office receptionist, Medical Office Assistant, Lab Tech, Pharmacy Tech, EKG Tech. Completion of a WS class/curriculum or equivalent, Previous WS experience.
1-year medical related college education within the past 5 years in addition to the completion of a medical terminology course.
