About This Role:
Due to growth, we are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Attorney Recruitment & Development. This role serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Operating Officer, Firm leadership, and Practice Group Leaders, ensuring that Miller Johnson attracts, develops, and retains top legal talent aligned with firm goals and values. Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Attorney Recruiting & Professional Development will lead all aspects of lateral and entry-level hiring, summer associate programs, attorney orientation, mentorship, training, and professional growth initiatives.
In this role you will:

Utilize your bachelor's degree (JD or advanced degree in HR preferred) along with your 10+ years of relevant experience within a professional services firm to elevate our attorney recruitment and talent development initiatives.
Bring vision, business acumen, and strategic thought leadership to develop and execute attorney leadership development, talent management, and succession planning across the organization.
Serve as a strategic talent connector by developing innovative recruitment strategies for lateral, entry-level, and law clerk hiring while building long-term relationships that strengthen the firm's attorney talent pipeline.
Partner with practice group leaders and firm leadership to develop strategic hiring plans, participate in campus and professional recruiting efforts, and strengthen the firm's brand in alignment with its culture and values.
Enhance the attorney experience by designing and implementing impactful orientation, onboarding, training, and professional development programs that support long-term career growth.
Collaborate with firm leaders to identify practice-specific and firmwide training needs and create clear career development pathways across practice areas.
Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of key professional development initiatives.
Oversee CLE policy and compliance to ensure alignment with state bar requirements across jurisdictions through effective tracking, reporting, and process management.
Utilize data and KPIs to evaluate recruitment trends, retention, engagement, and performance outcomes, driving continuous improvement in talent strategies.
