What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a Procurement Excellence Specialist to help shape, deploy, and continuously improve the procurement operating system for Direct Procurement. This Grade 16 role will translate strategic direction and enterprise standards into practical frameworks, tools, and governance routines that improve how procurement teams deliver value across the supplier lifecycle—from identification, qualification, contracting, and onboarding through performance management, risk and compliance monitoring, and offboarding.

In this role, you will lead defined procurement excellence workstreams, analyze data, document and improve processes, and build governance models, KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, tools, templates, and training materials that strengthen procurement consistency and maturity. You will work cross-functionally to align stakeholders, improve execution and visibility, strengthen compliance and supply resilience, and drive adoption across the global sourcing team in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Key focus areas include leading and executing portions of the procurement excellence roadmap in partnership with the Global HPN teams to raise procurement maturity across the organization. This may include category strategy governance, spend visibility, Key Metric Reporting, Amway Supplier Qualification (ASQP), supplier segmentation, supplier scorecards, supplier lifecycle management, procurement policy and process governance, item-level and category risk tracking, mitigation planning, business continuity methods, dashboards, and procurement capability-building activities.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant procurement, sourcing, supplier management, supply chain, governance, transformation, analytics, project management, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategy, supplier relationship management, supplier qualification, supplier lifecycle management, commercial agreements, supplier risk, policy stewardship, and procurement governance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or independently executing cross-functional projects or workstreams that require stakeholder alignment, process design, change management, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience developing or improving procurement standards, frameworks, scorecards, KPIs, dashboards, training materials, reporting, or governance processes.
  • Strong ability to gather, structure, and analyze data, translate insights into recommendations, and communicate complex business information clearly to leaders and global stakeholders.

Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Ability to design, document, govern, and continuously improve procurement processes, policies, tools, and operating routines across multiple stakeholders and regions.
  • Strong category strategy, sourcing, supplier analysis, negotiation, supplier relationship management, and business partner relationship management capability.
  • Experience building or improving supplier segmentation, supplier scorecards, QBR routines, corrective action processes, risk heat maps, mitigation plans, or business continuity methods.
  • Strong project and change management skills, including the ability to lead defined workstreams independently, manage cross-functional dependencies, escalate risks and decisions at the right time, drive adoption, and measure progress.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort partnering with Analytics and functional teams to improve procurement dashboards, KPI reporting, spend visibility, supplier performance insights, and decision-making tools.
  • Ability to build clear tools, templates, training materials, and communication materials that help teams adopt consistent procurement practices.
  • Ability to coach, influence, and build capability across sourcing teams without relying on formal authority, supported by curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset.

What’s special about this team:

The Procurement Excellence team is being built to synchronize how Procurement manages supply through the supplier lifecycle framework. This team drives the competency, process, and governance needed to improve our ability to deliver against a Right Cost, Right Source, and Always Available mindset. This includes building common frameworks and standards, strengthening policy and process governance, improving ASQP, and creating more consistent supplier lifecycle management. The team also partners with SPM on supplier performance and scorecards while advancing item-level and category risk management, business continuity planning, benchmarking, and capability development. By creating one procurement operating system, Procurement Excellence enables the procurement team to operate from one playbook, strengthen compliance and supply resilience, and multiply impact across every category.
