Job Title: Group Leader – Ada Facilities Ops

Department / Division: Facilities and Manufacturing / Supply Chain

Paygrade: EX2 16

Salary Range: $107,400 - $118,800 plus annual bonus

Location: Ada, MI

What do we need:

As a Maintenance Group Leader, you will supervise the day-to-day operations and team members of Facilities Maintenance while ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and in good working order. This includes coordinating routine maintenance, responding to emergency repairs, supervising and coaching, and mentoring the skilled trades maintenance staff.

  • Lead a team of Skilled Trades who maintain our facilities’ assets and infrastructure
  • Hire and onboard new talent as needed
  • Work closely with production personnel to address issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure that maintenance procedures and policies are followed consistently by the team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to identify and implement ways to increase equipment efficiency and effectiveness
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members and provide training and development opportunities as needed
  • Conduct routine audits of the facilities and equipment to maintain compliance for a GMP facility and processes.
  • Perform Safety walks with leadership and EH&S, provide guidance, and take ownership of all safety work performed by maintenance and contractors.

Required qualifications:

One of the following;

    • Minimum 5 years of facilities/manufacturing experience plus Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum 8 years’ Maintenance experience plus Skilled Trades Journeyman, Associate’s degree, or Amway’s mechanic career path

Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Knowledge of Drills, Saws, Shears, Breaks, Welders, Hand Tools, and debriefing tools.
  • Progressive management experience, with proven leadership experience, managing a diverse team of employees and vendors to achieve the desired results.
  • Able to lead cross-functional teams for projects
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a way that can be understood and embraced by a non-technical community
  • Ability to use computer-based maintenance management software and systems, preferably experience with an Enterprise Asset Management system like Hexagon.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment and facility drawings, including parts schematics, BOM, P&ID drawings, and architectural drawings.
