Job title: Assoc Engr II – Digital Manufacturing (Manufacturing Systems & CI)
Department / Division: Manufacturing - Industrial & Systems Engineering
Salary Grade: EX3_14
Salary Range: $88,700 - $97,000 plus annual bonus
Location: Ada, MI
*Note: This position is an office role, and you must be able to report in-person to Ada on Mondays through Thursdays, with Friday as a remote option
What do we need:
This is not a traditional engineering role—and it’s not a pure analytics role.
This position exists to lead the execution of digital manufacturing initiatives that improve how manufacturing teams operate, make decisions, and sustain performance. You will operate at the intersection of plant operations, manufacturing data, and digital enablement, turning loosely defined problems into structured programs that deliver measurable results.
You will own programs end‑to‑end: identifying opportunities, defining requirements, aligning stakeholders, guiding technical execution, driving adoption on the plant floor, and ensuring solutions stick.
What’s special about this role:
This role exists to turn manufacturing data into action.
- Lead digital manufacturing programs from concept through sustained adoption
- Partner with operations, quality, maintenance, IT, and engineering to identify high‑impact use cases
- Translate operational needs into clear functional and technical requirements for dashboards, analytics, and digital tools
- Guide the development of exception‑based analytics that surface risk, instability, and loss drivers
- Partner with operations, quality, maintenance, IT, and engineering to identify high‑impact use cases
- Act as the bridge between plant users and technical solutions—ensuring tools are usable, relevant, and trusted
- Establish success metrics and ensure solutions deliver measurable operational improvement
- Drive change management, including training, standard work integration, and performance follow‑up
- Establish success metrics and ensure solutions deliver measurable operational improvement
- Continuously refine and scale solutions across lines, plants, or regions
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing, engineering, analytics, or technical program management
- Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional initiatives or programs
- Hands‑on experience working with manufacturing or operational data
- Working knowledge of analytics tools such as Big Query, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar (ability to guide, review, and translate—hands‑on experience strongly preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
Skills to be successful in the role:
- You are a technical program manager who:
- Has led cross‑functional programs in manufacturing environments
- Understands how manufacturing data is generated and used
- Can translate operational pain points into clear technical and analytical requirements
- Drives organizational change, not just tool deployment
- Measures success by adoption, behavior change, and results
- Has the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to operators, supervisors, and leaders
- This role requires hands‑on technology capability. Candidates whose experience is limited to facilitating Lean events, creating PowerPoint reports, or conducting studies without implementing digital or analytical solutions will not be successful in this role.
- This position is not suitable for candidates without direct experience working with manufacturing data systems or building analytical tools themselves.
What’s special about this team:
You’ll join a highly technical, fast‑moving digital manufacturing team with direct influence on global operations. The team works closely with plant leadership, IT, and global partners in India and China. Solutions ship quickly, scale broadly, and matter.
