What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Paralegal with excellent project management skills and the ability to forge strong relationships. This individual will be part of the Legal Division and serve in a key role on the team that supports Amway North America (ANA), conducting content review, responding to legal requests, and managing updates to critical legal documents, under supervision of a lawyer. You must be able to hold information in strict confidence. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, attention to detail, resourcefulness, determination, and a commitment to follow tasks through to successful completion. You must be able to attend meetings and serve on cross-functional project teams as a representative of the Legal team, actively listening and questioning, identifying potential risks, and advocating for Legal’s position. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong influencing skills and the ability to build relationships with business partners and other members of the Legal Division. It also requires discipline, focus, and the ability to work independently, as the sole paralegal on the ANA-facing team
What’s Special About This Role:
This role is essential to the legal support for the ANA business. You will have the opportunity to review a high volume of marketing, promotional and event materials (both written and digital) and to recommend edits to mitigate legal and regulatory risk. You will attend live video productions and be asked to provide on-the-spot feedback to business leaders and Independent Business Owners (IBOs). You will have the opportunity to serve on a variety of cross-functional project teams and gain a broad perspective of the business. Responsibilities also include responding to legal requests, subpoenas, garnishment orders, employee verification requests, and consumer complaints. This role is challenging and dynamic and offers opportunities for growth and development. You will be able to directly contribute to ANA’s goals while being part of a collaborative group supported by experienced attorneys, paralegals, and subject-matter experts across other legal practice areas in the U.S. and International markets.
About Our Team:
We are a small, hardworking team. Each person on the team plays a unique role within the larger ANA Legal/BCR/BSM team. You will support and work under the supervision of the ANA-facing attorneys. You will also collaborate with members of the BCR/BSM team.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree with a certificate in Paralegal Studies or other relevant education
· 1+ years of relevant experience
Skills to be successful in the role:
Develop knowledge of the legal and regulatory risks associated with the ANA market and be able to apply that knowledge when reviewing assets
· Develop knowledge of the IBO Rules of Conduct and Quality Assurance Standards (QAS) Content Standards and be able to apply that knowledge when reviewing assets
