What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data & BI Platform Specialist to manage, optimize, and support our end-to-end data analytics environment. This role is crucial for transforming raw data into actionable insights, ensuring seamless operation of our data pipelines and visualization tools, and maintaining our cloud-based data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for Amway’s data analytics tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau, Tealium, and Heap, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Administration & Support: Administer and maintain Amway’s analytics platform tool environments, including installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and user access management.
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes using Alteryx and GCP tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, or Pub/Sub.
- BI & Data Visualization: Develop, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Tableau to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
- Data Modeling & Quality: Work with data engineers and analysts to design data models, ensure data quality and integrity, and troubleshoot data discrepancies to provide reliable data sources for reporting.
- Collaboration & Training: Partner with business stakeholders across various departments (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations) to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and provide training and support to end-users.
- Automation & Optimization: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual tasks and optimizing existing workflows for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for server configurations, data processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing.
Day to Day –
- Monitoring ServiceNow tickets coming into the team for the Data and BI tools from end users
- Proactively monitoring platforms for quality and efficiency
- Scheduling and managing upgrades and patches
- Development for ETL into GCP
There will minimal expectation of travel in this role, mainly to professional conferences or team collaboration. This is a global Agile team that works in weekly sprints.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering
- Expertise in platform administration, data preparation, blending, and workflow automation.
- Advanced skills in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and querying.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required)
- Experience with other programming languages like Python or Java.
- Hands-on experience with Alteryx, Tableau, and Google Cloud Platform
- Relevant certifications such as Alteryx Server Certified, Tableau Desktop Specialist, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer.
- Familiarity with Tealium and Heap for digital analytics.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and data governance frameworks.

What’s special about this team:
The position is on a global operations team with members in the US, Malaysia, and India. They operate in an Agile environment with one-week sprints, holding planning meetings on Tuesdays and check-ins on Thursdays. The team handles hundreds of tickets per month from all over the world. New hires receive training through a combination of documentation in Confluence and significant hands-on, on-the-job experience with guidance from senior team members. The culture is collaborative, with the intent that every team member can eventually handle any task, though natural specializations occur over time.
