Job Summary:
As a member of our Infrastructure Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for designing and delivering tailored SharePoint solutions that meet the unique needs of our business units and stakeholders. This position requires expert-level technical knowledge of SharePoint technologies, coupled with strong collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders, understand their requirements, and provide innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of architecting and implementing complex SharePoint projects, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of SharePoint solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our business units and stakeholders.
- Act as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, understanding their business processes and requirements to provide expert advice and guidance on leveraging SharePoint capabilities effectively.
- Define and implement SharePoint governance policies and best practices, including records management strategies leveraging SharePoint features like Content Types, Information Management Policies, and Document Sets.
- Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of SharePoint technologies, including SharePoint Online (Office 365), SharePoint Server, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), SharePoint Designer, and related tools and services.
- Develop custom SharePoint solutions using various development approaches, such as client-side scripting (JavaScript/TypeScript), server-side coding (.NET), and SharePoint add-ins/apps.
- Lead integration efforts with other systems and platforms, as well as plan and execute SharePoint migration projects from legacy systems to modern SharePoint environments.
- Customize and configure Microsoft Search to improve search results accuracy, relevance, and user experience using content from various data sources, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and third-party applications.
- Define and implement SharePoint governance policies, best practices, and standards to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of SharePoint solutions.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, design documents, configuration guides, and deployment instructions.
Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of SharePoint architecture, configuration, administration, development, and customization capabilities including but not limited to...
- Expert with SharePoint features such as Modern Pages, Web Parts, Search, Taxonomy, Metadata, User Profiles, Master Pages, etc.
- Strong capabilities with modern workflows (Power Automate)
- Strong experience with Information Rights Management
- Strong experience with M365/SharePoint Records Management
- Strong experience with PowerBI (ties into Records Management)
- Expert working with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Online PowerShell
- Expert with SharePoint at a large enterprise scale.
- Strong experience with enterprise search
- Strong experience with content management aspects of SharePoint, style sheets, master pages, etc.
- Spearhead designing integration efforts with other systems and platforms, employing migration tools like ShareGate, Metalogix, or AvePoint to ensure seamless data migration and interoperability.
- Strong focus on engaging with business units and stakeholders, understanding their needs, and building lasting relationships.
- Proven ability to analyze complex business requirements and technical challenges, and design innovative SharePoint solutions to address them.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and mentor junior team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality solutions within agreed timelines.
- Commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and developments in SharePoint technology and related Microsoft products and services.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or equal relative experience.
- Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer, Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in SharePoint architecture, development, and administration roles, with at least 3 years of experience in a stakeholder-facing consultancy role.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex SharePoint projects from inception to completion, including solution design, development, deployment, and support.
- Extensive experience with records management strategies leveraging SharePoint features like Content Types, Information Management Policies, and Document Sets.
- Proven experience implementing and customizing Microsoft Search or similar enterprise search solutions.
